Do you drain the ground beef and onion mixture from step #2 before adding the tomato sauce?

Of course you can drain the ground beef but I don't. Depends on the quality and fat content of the meat.

This is now one of my hubbys fave dishes. I could make this once a week and i don't think he'd object! It's very filling and satisfies the taste buds! Thank you so much for sharing.

Pasta In A Skillet

SERVES: 1-4

TIME: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces Gluten Free penne or macaroni pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef, turkey, lamb or GF sausage
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons GF Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cups Basic Tomato Sauce or 1 14 ounce jar of GF spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

1. Cook pasta according to package directions and drain.

2.  In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground meat, onion, and garlic with the Worcestershire sauce until thoroughly cooked.

3.  Stir in 2 cups Basic Tomato Sauce or jar of GF spaghetti sauce.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4.  Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 5 minutes.

5.  Add the cooked pasta to the sauce. 

6.  In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and cheese.

7.  Top the pasta with the sour cream and cheese mixture. Cover and cook at a simmer for 7 minutes until thoroughly heated.
